In 2000, Pastor Greg began to attend a Thursday night study in Clarinda, Iowa and in 2002 this study was turned over to him and his wife Amy.The Lord led them to remain a Thursday night study for the next year and then in June of 2003 God spoke to them concerning His desire to go on and become a church.  On September 21, 2003 They conducted their first Sunday morning worship service in Clarinda.  God has so blessed the fellowship that they already owned the building before the first Sunday morning service at the location they are now in at 1500 S 14th St. in Clarinda. 

The building that God has given them had been for the most of its existence a bar, which many find ironic because several of the fellowship were in that bar at some point in their lives in a manner that was not glorifying to God....BUT God ....in His infinate love and grace had a plan for this building, and He saved them instead of punishing and He turned this building into a place of worship.  So for many of the fellowship, this building is a reminder of God's unfailing love and His willingness to forgive. 

1 Corinthians 6:11 And such were some of you; but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.  God has been faithful every step of the way, guiding, leading, protecting,and providing. It is the desire of Calvary Chapel Clarinda, to continue simply teaching the Word of God simply, depending on the Lord to build the church.  "But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." John 4:23-24
